Autumn 2017 Change of Pests

WaspsWith the cooler days and darker evenings upon us, the pest problems are changing. It has been a slightly odd summer. There have been fewer insects around this year than normal, in particular wasp number have been down this has resulted in a reduction in the nuisance caused by these striped visitors during BBQ’s and other  other outdoor events. There have however been large numbers of moths and fleas around throughout the last several moths. We would urge you to ensure that all pets are regularly treated with a good quality flea preventative, it is a much cheaper solution than a full fumigation.

We have already dealt with a large number of call outs with regard  to rodents this autumn; rats, mice and squirrels seem to moving inside houses and other buildings slightly earlier than usual. This may be to do with the amount of rain we have had and the fairly cool evenings. Remember if you do hear noises in your house and you suspect it may be rodents, it is far better to call at an early stage, this reduces the chances of your intruders breeding and causing significant damage to your property. They will not go away on their own no matter how much you hope and pray.
